This was the last show I did with Furious Theatre Co in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Both Scenic and Lighting Designs were mine and I had a number of very tricky elements. The most difficult was the drawer that came out of the down left “curb”. It needed to function as a seat but also needed to have an actor inside and pulled out as if on a bed. That gag only worked because the actor, Shawn Lee, went very much out of his way to crawl into position and wait for an entire scene laying with only an inch and a half between his nose and the underside of the platform above. This is one set that could have really benefited from metal construction instead of wood. We won the LA Weekly award for Production Design on this one.
