Show Set Design: Storybook Circus

I spent good portion of 2011 working on the new Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World.  I was primarily working on the Show and Prop elements of The Barnstormer Coaster, as well as some of the ornamentation for the new Dumbo spinners.

Some loyal fans took very good photos of the props littering the queue of Barnstormer.  I’m really pleased with how they turned out.

I am also very happy to see the Billboard in place.  That piece was a real challenge to find placement for among the existing ride footings.  And with hurricane force winds an issue, it had to be really beefy.

It’s also very gratifying to see the final product turn out very much like your early white model.

Not the greatest view of it, but the pile of sandbags holding up the Goofy Target turned out great too.  One of those details that make for a great layered experience.
